A mass of material related to VH-MDX is available in the National Archives. The majority of it covers the initial search plus flightplans, witness statements etc.
The National Archives can be accessed at http://www.naa.gov.au/ and then search the collection for VH-MDX .
While it has been publicly available since May 2012, I call everyone's attention to this such that enquiries re headings, radar paints etc can probably be answered by perusing this source material.
