Glenn Strkalj and Glenn Horrocks are passionate researchers of the mystery that is VH-MDX. Together they have researched and written a paper titled VH-MDX Maximum Possible Extent of Flight . As stated in the paper itself, it's purpose is to define a highly conservative, but robustly found geographical boundaries within which VH-MDX is located. That is, to define an area where VH-MDX is definitely located; and outside that area it is impossible (or at least extremely unlikely) for VH-MDX to be located: a maximum possible extent of flight analysis. So with that stated,  the intent of the Maximum Extent Analysis is to provide guidance to filtering reports that are flooding in regarding potential wreckage, sounds of impact etc and to limit the extent of intelligence activities and so concentrate those activities to that area where VH-MDX is highly likely to be. The intent is not to yield  specific search areas (that will come later).

Structured research such as this is essential in solving this mystery. The paper makes for fascinating reading and while I can personally vouch for the thoroughness with which it would have been researched and also the enthusiasm and dedication of the researchers themselves, all comments, questions and observations are most welcome.
