Sydney Air Traffic Services and Radar 1981

One of our leading researchers, Glenn Strkalj, has written a paper, Sydney Air Traffic Services and Radar 1981,  to provide base data and information on Sydney ATC and radar as it was in 1981.
Understanding Sydney Air Traffic Services (ATS) such as Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Flight Information Service (FIS) as it was during the VH-MDX accident in August 1981 is crucial in forming likely and defensible assumptions as to the location of the missing aircraft VH-MDX.
The paper is fascinating and comprehensive reading complete with explanatory diagrams and photos.
For your reading and understanding as we work to resolve this mystery.

Please go to www.vhmdx.com.au to see the latest version of this paper.

VH-MDX Most Likely Extent of Flight

Glenn Strkalj and Glenn Horrocks have released VH-MDX Most likely extent of Flight

As it states in the publication .... " The purpose of this paper was to define a boundary representing the Most Likely Extent of Flight of missing aircraft VH-MDX to limit large-scale search operations whilst also offering a tool to screen specific flight path theories. The boundary defines the area within which VH-MDX is most likely to lie within based on the best possible information, data and understanding currently available."

VH-MDX Radar presentation

Glenn Strkalj has assembled the results of his research covering ATC Radar involvement in the VH-MDX incident. This paper gives a very comprehensive look at what radars could see VH-MDX together with factors affecting.

It is for background information and to stimulate thoughts as to the outstanding matters at hand.

VH-MDX. Maximum possible Extent of Flight

Glenn Strkalj and Glenn Horrocks have released version 2 of VH-MDX Maximum Possible Extent of Flight . This publication was described elsewhere in this blog.

Structured research such as this is essential in solving this mystery. The paper makes for fascinating reading and while I can personally vouch for the thoroughness with which it would have been researched and also the enthusiasm and dedication of the researchers themselves, all comments, questions and observations are most welcome.
